The Vision Behind the Brand
Founder William Welch FSCD MA (RCA) comes from design legacy. As the son of one of Britain’s most celebrated post-war industrial designers, William’s own career has been shaped by excellence, originality, and hands-on experimentation. After formal studies in Silversmithing and Furniture Design, he honed his craft at the Royal College of Art, where his passion for cutlery design truly took root.
William’s approach is deeply tactile. From hand-sketched ideas and CAD drawings to carved wooden prototypes and sterling silver models, every Studio William collection undergoes a seven-stage process that blends artistry with engineering precision.
