Materials & Construction

The WaterHog Squares Doormat is constructed from durable recycled PET fibres with an anti-slip nitrile rubber backing.

Its innovative bi-level design features raised, textured squares that help remove dirt from footwear. Mud, dust and moisture settle into the recessed channels beneath the surface rather than remaining on top of the mat.

The hard-wearing fibres are designed to withstand regular foot traffic, while the rubber backing provides grip and helps prevent moisture from reaching the floor beneath.

Suitable for most common floor surfaces, including tiles, hardwood, laminate, cork, screed, low-pile carpet and underfloor-heated floors.

For delicate or specialist flooring, always check the flooring manufacturer's care recommendations before use.

Care & Cleaning

The WaterHog Squares Doormat is designed for straightforward cleaning and everyday maintenance.

  • Regular cleaning: Shake outside, sweep or vacuum to remove loose dirt, dust and debris.
  • Machine washing: Machine washable in a suitably sized washing machine. Remove loose debris before washing and use a mild detergent.
  • Hand washing: Rinse thoroughly with cold water using a garden hose. Gently clean stubborn areas with a soft brush and mild, non-bleach detergent.
  • Drying: Allow the mat to air dry completely, preferably laid flat, before returning it to its usual position.
  • Avoid: Bleach, harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning products.

For larger sizes, particularly XL and XXL, hand washing may be more practical than machine washing.

Lift the mat periodically to clean and dry the floor underneath. Ensure both the mat and floor are completely dry before replacing it.
