As summer gives way to autumn, our attention naturally turns back indoors. The evenings get darker, rooms are used differently and colours that felt perfect in July can suddenly look very different in September light.
For Autumn 2026, interior colour is becoming warmer, richer and considerably more interesting. Powdery blue is sitting alongside wine red, baked earth, chocolate brown, grounded green and grown-up yellow.
The common thread is colour that feels comfortable and easy to live with. Even the deeper shades have muted or earthy qualities that work beautifully alongside timber, stone, linen and other natural materials.

1. Powdery blue
Blue has been one of the defining interior colours of 2026, but for autumn it is becoming quieter and more nuanced.
Rather than bright coastal shades, look towards powdery, greyed and slightly misty blues. They introduce colour without overwhelming a room and can behave almost like a neutral.

These aren't bright reds. The colours we're drawn to have warmth and depth, often with plum, purple or brown running through them.
